(May 27, 2016 6:00 p.m.) — Bernie Sanders returned to the Young Turks for the second time for a one-on-one interview with host Cenk Uygur.

Sanders was asked about the possibility of holding a one-on-one debate with Donald Trump, his campaign for president, and the democratic process and other policy and related issues.

The Young Turks vouched to donate $1M to charity in support of, and in response to Donald Trump’s earlier claims that he would debate Sanders for $10M to be donated to charity.

The prospect of a debate between Trump and Sanders has not been finalized and hinges on Donald Trump committing to follow through with the debate.

(Wednesday, May 11, 2016) — Fresh off a big win in the West Virginia primary, Sen. Bernard Sanders‘ campaign said Wednesday the Democratic Party would be courting “disaster” if it nominates Hillary Clinton as its presidential nominee.

In a fundraising email to supporters, Sanders campaign manager Jeff Weaver cited recent polls showing the Vermont senator performing better against Republican Donald Trump in general election match-ups. Recent surveys have shown Mrs. Clinton virtually tied with Mr. Trump in the key battleground states of Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida.

(May 9, 2016 12:05 am) — rnie Sanders wants everyone to be offered a tuition-free college education and he’s called crazy. America can’t afford it, naysayers scoff. He’s just pandering to young voters.

But too many of us in California forget: This state did provide tuition-free college for generations.

That helped California achieve greatness by broadening the middle class and providing opportunities for upward mobility not available in other states.

(May 8, 2016 17:00) — Bernie Sanders is looking to make a strong closing statement to the superdelegates who could determine his fate in the Democratic primary, and he may have it. Polls currently show he is headed for a big winning streak to end the voting season.

Sanders has fallen far behind front-runner Hillary Clinton, who now holds an edge of roughly 300 pledged delegates, but Sanders has been undaunted and has vowed to remain in the race until the final vote has been counted.

(May 7, 2016 09:00 am) — NEW YORK) — Bernie Sanders began his Thursday in one of the poorest, rural communities in America. “This isn’t a political rally,” he said, kicking off the event at a food bank in Kimball, West Virginia.

He called the meeting an “informal discussion” on poverty, and during the 90-minute town hall-style conversation, he did not mention rival Hillary Clinton once by name. He stuck to issues central to his campaign: inequality, wages, health care and extreme hardships felt by many across the country.

(May 6, 2016 03:07 pm EDT) — Both parties ignored workers, spewed hate, enriched themselves, hollowed out democracy. Now the problem’s populism?

This week, on the night of the Indiana primary, I read one of the most loathsome political screeds it has been my misfortune to encounter.

It was an alarm bell raised by Andrew Sullivan, arguably the greatest hypocrite of the Bush era, on par with his partner in many crimes Christopher Hitchens (remember “Islamofascism?”). Sullivan proclaims that the election of Trump would be an “extinction-level” event. Well, perhaps it will be.

By Tamara Keith, NPR.com

(May 5, 2016 7:19 pm ET) — Back when Bernie Sanders’ campaign was just ramping up, and he was still giving speeches under covered picnic shelters to small groups of Democrats, he was talking about a political revolution.

“The only way we bring change to this country — and I’m the only candidate, I think, who will tell you this — is when we develop a strong, grass-roots movement that tells the people who today control America they can’t have it all,” Sanders said in June to a crowd of about 50 in a park outside Des Moines, Iowa. “This country belongs to all of us.”
