(July 16, 2016 10:12 p.m.) — Don’t fret, Bernie Sanders fans: You may have lost the battle for the Democratic nomination, but you definitely won the war for the party’s soul.

That’s because Hillary Clinton — desperate for Sanders’ blessing — agreed to send the party hurtling sharply left by adopting what all agree is the Democrats’ most liberal platform in history.

“I think if you read the platform right now,” said Sanders policy director Warren Gunnells, “you will understand that the political revolution is alive and kicking.”

(May 25, 2016 Although it is becoming increasingly clear that Senator Bernie Sanders, despite running a brilliant, odds-defying campaign, will not be able to clinch the Democratic nomination for the presidency, it’s also becoming clear that there will be a long-lasting “Bernie effect,” long after he concedes to Hillary Clinton. Sanders has shown the Democratic establishment that America is, indeed, hungry for change, and open to ideas and policies that were once dismissed as being “too liberal.” Through Sanders’s potential shaping of the Democratic platform, the Bernie effect may change the face of the Democratic party.

In an unprecedented move, meant to spark unity between Sanders’s passionate supporters and Hillary Clinton’s supporters, the Sanders campaign was given five seats on the Democratic Platform Committee. Clinton was give six appointees, and the Democratic National Committee will add an additional four, for a total of 15. The committee will be chaired by Representative Elijah Cummings.

(Apr. 10, 2016 1:42 pm) — Sen. Bernie Sanders is not pleased with former President Bill Clinton’s assertion that female presidential candidates are subconsciously held to a different standard from male candidates.

In an interview with CNN that aired on Sunday, Sanders sarcastically hit back at Clinton for suggesting that “gender was a factor” in Sanders’ criticism of Democratic presidential rival Hillary Clinton as unqualified to be president.

“I appreciate Bill Clinton being my psychoanalyst. It’s always nice,” Sanders said.
