(July 6, 2016 6:00 p.m.) — Bernie Sanders’ next signature rally may take place in Philadelphia—the night before the Democratic National Convention.

The Vermont senator’s campaign has applied for a permit to hold an event that will reportedly host between 15,000 to 40,000 people on July 24 at Franklin Delano Roosevelt Park. It is one of 10 such pro-Sanders events requesting permission from the Philadelphia mayor’s office, the Burlington Free Press reports.

Sanders spokesperson Michael Briggs said last month that the senator was planning to deliver a “victory statement” in Philadelphia, but said on Wednesday that plans for the rally are still being finalized

(June 25, 2016 8:00 p.m.) — The exorbitant costs of attending the Democratic Convention in Philadelphia on July 25-28 this year, is threatening to leave some delegates out in the cold.
The DNC strongly requires delegates to stay at an appointed hotel, and costs for a room start at $569 per night, plus tax and fees, with the hotel requiring a five night minimum, putting base costs for attending the convention in the thousands, effectively shutting out anyone below a certain income bracket.

(May 22, 2016 7:46 pm) — Their slogan is “Bernie or bust” and their hatred for the Democratic party establishment is so strong that some are vowing to back Donald Trump rather than hold their noses and vote for Hillary Clinton.

Hardcore supporters of Clinton’s rival, the socialist senator Bernie Sanders, are vowing to fight her all the way to the party convention in July — even though the former secretary of state has all but secured the Democratic nomination for president.
