(July 28, 2016 4:48 a.m.) — As one of Wednesday’s keynote speakers at the Democratic National Convention, President Barack Obama gave Hillary Clinton a mighty endorsement. But that doesn’t mean he let Bernie Sanders’ movement slip out of the spotlight. As the camera caught a glimpse of Sanders reacting to Obama’s “Feel the Bern” comment, the Vermont senator’s humbled pride shone brightly.

Refusing to react too enthusiastically, Sanders looked as though he was trying his absolute hardest to suppress a huge smile. (July 11, 2016 06:00 p.m.) — It appears Bernie Sanders, he of the famed $27 donation, is still struggling to rein in over-eager donors. On Sunday, the Federal Elections Commission sent the Sanders campaign a list of contributors who may have donated more than $2,700, the maximum amount allowed for a primary campaign. It runs on for more than 1,000 pages.

This is the fifth time Sanders has been put on notice, and each time, the list of flagged contributions has grown. In February, the FEC’s letter was just 95 pages long. By April, it had hit 650 pages, and the FEC’s letter for May—which was also filed Sunday, a bit late—reached 778. While it’s hard to pin down exactly how much money Sanders might have to return, a rough calculation—the total amount donated by the cited contributors minus the legal limit for each—indicates it could be in the neighborhood of $500,000, a relatively small sum for a campaign that’s raised nearly $230 million.

By Ben Wolfgang – The Washington Times

(July 3, 2016 6:00 p.m.) — Some progressives want Sen. Bernard Sanders of Vermont on the Democratic presidential ticket and won’t be fully satisfied with anyone else as Hillary Clinton’s No. 2 — not even fellow anti-Wall Street crusader and liberal firebrand Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

Ms. Warren has emerged as a top contender to be Mrs. Clinton’s running mate, but data show that picking the senator from Massachusetts won’t necessarily lead liberals to coalesce around Mrs. Clinton and would have little impact on independent and moderate voters.
