(July 28, 2016 4:48 a.m.) — As one of Wednesday’s keynote speakers at the Democratic National Convention, President Barack Obama gave Hillary Clinton a mighty endorsement. But that doesn’t mean he let Bernie Sanders’ movement slip out of the spotlight. As the camera caught a glimpse of Sanders reacting to Obama’s “Feel the Bern” comment, the Vermont senator’s humbled pride shone brightly.

Refusing to react too enthusiastically, Sanders looked as though he was trying his absolute hardest to suppress a huge smile. Though the democratic socialist may not be thrilled about losing out on the party’s nomination, he’s certainly proud of how far his supporters have helped his movement come.

(April 30, 2016 4:07 p.m.) — Bernie Sanders became the first socialist mayor of Burlington, Vermont, and ran successfully as an Independent for the House of Representatives and then the Senate. Now, the Democratic challenger to Hillary Clinton has young voters “feeling the Bern.”

The political career of Bernie Sanders nearly ended before it began. In the early 1970s, he lost his first four races — two for the Senate and two for governor — running on the ticket of Vermont’s radical Liberty Union Party, while espousing positions such as ending the Vietnam War and abolishing the CIA. But when he ran as an Independent for mayor of Burlington in 1981, the socialist Sanders beat the five-term Democratic incumbent.

CHICAGO, (Saturday, April 23, 2016 4:20 pm) — The array of liberal groups that have come together to support Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders are beginning to plot a course forward in the event he does not win the party’s nomination.

Much like the candidate himself, the groups have not conceded defeat to front-runner Hillary Clinton, but NBC News reports several groups are planning a meeting in Chicago sometime in June, after voting has ended, to explore ways to continue the “political revolution” Sanders has sought to create with his campaign’s message assailing income inequality.
