(Mar. 20, 2016 11:55 EST) — Bernie Sanders on Sunday admitted he had been \u201ccreamed\u201d in many southern states by his rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, Hillary Clinton, but said Democrats were \u201cnot going to win those states in the general election\u201d.<\/p>\n
Sanders, speaking on CBS, was asked about the delegate math that gives Clinton a nigh-insurmountable lead in delegates and superdelegates combined.<\/p>\n
Sanders said his campaign had a good path forward even though \u201cthe deep south\u201d was \u201cnot a strong area for us\u201d, and pointed out that in Illinois and Missouri the campaigns nearly split the delegates available despite Clinton winning the states.<\/p>\n
