But now that he’s gained more national attention, Sanders has started to sound downright Trumpian and in love of touting the latest stats on his campaign. While stumping at a high school gym in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, on Friday afternoon, Sanders kicked off his normal speech by adding a bit of bragging about a host of favorable numbers.

A black woman in her 60s, Jabul is devoted to Sanders and said she has plans to vote for him in New York’s April 19 primary. But she wasn’t positive she was going to vote at all. It had been quite a while.

(Apr. 1, 2016 11:53 a.m.) — Bernie Sanders made big money in March, raising more than any other candidate in 2016 so far.

The Vermont senator raised $44 million in March. That beats his previous record of $43.5 million set in February.

So far, the Sanders campaign says it has raised $109 million in the first quarter of 2016 — over 97 percent of that was raised online.

Hillary Clinton’s campaign hasn’t released her numbers for March yet. In February, she brought in $30 million.

Sanders is slowly gaining on Clinton in New York ahead of the April 19 primary. Clinton now leads Sanders by 12 points in New York’s Democratic primary, according to a Quinnipiac Poll released Thursday. A poll in February showed Sanders 21 points behind Clinton in New York, and another in March showed him 48 points behind.
