(July 7, 2016 4:27 p.m. ET) — Bernie Sanders is expected to endorse Hillary Clinton on Tuesday at an event in New Hampshire, a Democratic source with knowledge of discussions between the two campaigns tell NPR’s Tamara Keith.

Clinton secured enough delegates to clinch the Democratic nomination just over a month ago, but Sanders has stayed in the campaign — though he kept a lower profile.

Vice President Biden told NPR last week that he was confident Sanders would endorse Clinton, but at that time Sanders said he wasn’t quite ready.

(July 6, 2016 10:49 a.m.) — Lawmakers press Sanders during a tense question-and-answer session on whether he would ultimately endorse Clinton and help foster party unity.

Sen. Bernie Sanders is still talking like a guy who’s running for president. But frustrated House Democrats — who booed him at one point during a morning meeting — say it’s time to stop.

With the Democratic convention just weeks away, Sanders still hasn’t endorsed one-time rival Hillary Clinton and dodged questions about when he would during a tense meeting Wednesday morning with House Democrats.

(June 15, 2016 12:45 p.m.) — With the end of the Democratic primaries and several weeks to go until the Democratic National Convention in July, pressure from mainstream media for Bernie Sanders to drop out of the race is increasing.

“Hillary Clinton Made History, but Bernie Sanders Stubbornly Ignored It,” read a headline in The New York Times after Clinton was projected to win California—despite the LA Times reporting more than 2.5 million ballots (nearly half of the state’s six million votes) had yet to be counted. Yamiche Alcindor, the same Times reporter who claimed Sanders ignored history, also inferred Sanders’ decision to stay in the race was sexist, writing on June 12 “Bernie Sanders Refuses to Concede Nomination to Hillary Clinton.”

(May 16, 2016 08:00 am) — Who is the world-renowned political dissident Noam Chomsky voting for? “In the primaries, I would prefer Bernie Sanders,” Chomsky says.

“If Clinton is nominated and it comes to a choice between Clinton and Trump, in a swing state, a state where it’s going to matter which way you vote, I would vote against Trump, and by elementary arithmetic, that means you hold your nose and you vote Democrat. I don’t think there’s any other rational choice.”

(April 26th, 2016 6:24 pm) — In railing against the “rigged” GOP delegate system for weeks, Donald Trump has taken to making bedfellows of Bernie Sanders and saying that both parties are being rather unfair to each of them.

Trump has repeatedly said it’s unfair that the Democrats have superdelegates who could potentially steer the ship, likening it to the delegate shenanigans in the GOP.

(Apr. 4, 2016 08:00) — On Thursday night, between 16,000 and 20,000 people gathered in St. Mary’s Park in the South Bronx for a Bernie Sanders rally, where Sanders stressed his Brooklyn roots. It was the first time in decades a presidential candidate spoke in the South Bronx. He spoke alongside director Spike Lee and actress Rosario Dawson, who is known for her role in Kids and many other films, including Sin City: A Dame to Kill For as well as Rent.

After the rally DemocracyNow’s Amy Goodman caught up with Dawson while she was on the sidewalk with friends and asked her why she was supporting Bernie Sanders.

I’m supporting Bernie Sanders because we do need a single-payer healthcare system that takes care of everyone. And that is not a pipe dream; that’s something that’s happening all over the world and in really positive ways,” Dawnson said. “We are a social democracy. That’s our firefighters, that’s our policemen. And it shouldn’t be drawing a line, that’s—you know, a fireman will go into your house to take your hard drive out and save your cat, but if you break your leg, screw you.”

“That doesn’t make any sense, you know? And when you actually go and you travel around the world and you start recognizing that people can actually be sick, they can take—you know, have a broken leg and not lose their job and lose their livelihoods and lose their homes over it, that’s really important.”
