At least 1,000 people showed up who couldn’t get inside the 2,300-seat Memorial Auditorium, which was full. Sanders emerged on the steps of the venue and addressed the outside crowd before delivering his speech inside.

The action managed to shut down the rally for close to ten minutes — to Trump’s audible dismay. At one point, the chants of “USA” brought things to such a halt that Trump resorted to begging for police action.

(Mar. 10, 2016 20:03) — Bernie Sanders called on Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump to address an incident at one of his rallies where a black man was punched in the face. “No one in America should ever fear for their safety at a political rally,” Sanders, a Democratic candidate for the White House, said in a statement. “This ugly incident confirms that the politics of division has no place in our country. Mr. Trump should take responsibility for addressing his supporters’ violent actions.”

(Mar. 10, 2016 13:30 ET) — In its early months, Bernie Sanders’s presidential campaign suffered from the impression that it was a protest candidacy more about discussing issues than about electing a president. More recently, it has looked more like a genuine effort to deny Hillary Clinton the nomination — an effort that seems likely to fail. But judged by that earlier standard, Sanders has been highly successful.

Four sectors that could benefit.

(Mar. 9, 2016 18:53 EST) — Much like the way oil stocks surged under George W. Bush, and technology under Bill Clinton, a new president with a different set of priorities can greatly affect the fortunes of companies. Senator Bernie Sanders, a presidential candidate with many ideas far off the beaten path from most other U.S. politicians and a deep desire to reform and restructure the balance of power in the American economy, would change the game across a host of industries.

(Mar. 9, 2016 18:04 ET) — Bernie Sanders was the story of Tuesday night as he beat Hillary Clinton in Michigan’s Democratic presidential primary. It wasn’t a walloping — he won by less than 2 points — but still a big coup considering Clinton led in most polls by double digits before the race.

Michigan is Sanders’ ninth state win, though Clinton still leads in delegates overall.

(Mar. 9, 2016) — Bernie Sanders is showing no signs of slowing down after pulling off an upset victory in Michigan and sees an opportunity ahead to gain ground, as his campaign suggests one of Hillary Clinton’s biggest built-in advantages is about to become irrelevant.

To date, Clinton’s “firewall” of Southern states has delivered her a string of victories, most recently in Mississippi. Across the Deep South, black voters who make up a majority of the Democratic primary electorate there went overwhelmingly for Clinton.
