(Saturday, April 9, 2016 6:34 pm) — Bernie Sanders was declared the winner in the 2016 Wyoming Democratic caucus keeping his wave of momentum alive with the caucus being his seventh victory in a row. The win was no surprise for the Vermont senator who was expected to win Wyoming being a Western caucus state with a largely white electorate.

Democrats gathered across the state to allocate 14 of the state’s pledged delegates. Wyoming has 4 superdelegates that have already backed Clinton. While the win keeps the Sanders campaign alive it does not do much to affect Clinton’s overall delegate lead ahead of the key New York primary where 291 delegates are at stake. The primary will take place April 19.

Latest numbers from the AP (97 percent reporting):
Sanders: 56 percent
Clinton: 44 percent

A retired New York police officer stood guard.

Two miles away, in a gritty open-floor office space in Gowanus, Brooklyn, that smelled of fresh paint, an army of mostly young Bernie Sanders supporters began gathering two weeks ago to spread his message. Last weekend, they nibbled on orange slices, perched on plastic folding chairs and sifted through mountains of newly delivered cardboard boxes filled with Bernie for President pamphlets. Visitors walked up a driveway and through a half-open side door to enter.

(Thursday, April 7, 2016 2:36 pm EDT) — As if discovering gambling in Casablanca, political operatives professed themselves “shocked” on Thursday at signs of growing rancour between Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton ahead of their unexpectedly competitive New York primary election.

“A new low,” complained Clinton spokesman Brian Fallon, after her rival responded to what he believed were personal attacks on him by questioning whether she was “qualified to be president” either.
