(May 26, 2016 7:24 a.m.) — His unlikely crusade became a genuine campaign. Now Sanders faces a choice—and a test.

Bernie Sanders wanted to sit in the sun, but not even the sharp California rays on the rooftop deck at a San Diego hotel could brighten his mood. There was still too much at stake, he said, too many lies being told, too many foes with bad motives inside his adopted party. The irascible impatience that has defined Sanders’ entire life—the fury of David against Goliath, of the worker against the owner—was peaking. And still people were telling him to hang it up, get in line and go back to the dairy pastures of Vermont.

By Samantha Kilgore, Inquisitr

(May 25, 2016 Although it is becoming increasingly clear that Senator Bernie Sanders, despite running a brilliant, odds-defying campaign, will not be able to clinch the Democratic nomination for the presidency, it’s also becoming clear that there will be a long-lasting “Bernie effect,” long after he concedes to Hillary Clinton. Sanders has shown the Democratic establishment that America is, indeed, hungry for change, and open to ideas and policies that were once dismissed as being “too liberal.” Through Sanders’s potential shaping of the Democratic platform, the Bernie effect may change the face of the Democratic party.

In an unprecedented move, meant to spark unity between Sanders’s passionate supporters and Hillary Clinton’s supporters, the Sanders campaign was given five seats on the Democratic Platform Committee. Clinton was give six appointees, and the Democratic National Committee will add an additional four, for a total of 15. The committee will be chaired by Representative Elijah Cummings.

(May 24, 2016 6:38 pm) — Populist presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is in Los Angeles, and after appearing in Santa Monica last night and swinging through Glassell Park for some third-wave coffee this morning, it appears that he caused quite a sensation with a speech in Anaheim Tuesday.

Speaking to a crowd of 1,500 across the street from Disneyland at the Anaheim Convention Center, Sanders trashed the hand that feeds this company town. The Orange County Register reports that during his speech, Sanders used Disney “as an example of the downside of modern capitalism,” saying:

“We’re in a nation where a lot of people are in trouble,” Sanders told a crowd of about 1,500 at the Anaheim Convention Center.
Then he asked this: “Anybody here working for Disney?” Many responded that they do.
“Anybody here making a living wage working for Disney?” Many responded that they do not.
