(April 14, 2016 06:22) — NEW YORK, April 14 (UPI) — Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders opened their ninth debate with sharp attacks on each other five days ahead of the crucial New York primary.

Sanders fired first when asked about his recent criticism that Clinton was not “qualified” to be president.

“I’ve known Secretary Clinton, how long, 25 years? I said that in response to the kind of attacks we were getting form the Clinton campaign,” Sanders said. “Does Secretary Clinton have the experience and intelligence to be president? Of course she does. But I do question her judgment. Her judgment that voted for the war in Iraq, the worst foreign policy blunder in our nation’s history.”

( Apr. 12, 2016 12:59 pm ET) — Bernie Sanders’ fundraising success will no doubt go down as the secret sauce that helped Sanders defeat the well-oiled Clinton machine in the last seven delegate contests. Sanders is not only outraising Clinton, but in many key states such as Wisconsin, he is outspending her as well. Most impressively, Sanders, unlike Clinton, is campaigning without the support of an affiliated super PAC.

Backed by one of the most well-organized grassroots campaigns in American history, Sanders has raked in close to 7 million individual donations. That’s more unique contributions than Obama received during his entire 2008 campaign.

Is Bernie Sanders Campaigning Upstream with Only One Principled Paddle?

20160221_0600 Bernie Sanders Super PAC Superdelegate progressive kick (time).jpg (Feb. 21, 2016) The Bernie Sanders campaign for the presidency may operating under sound moral and ethical principle by not using or supporting super PACs, he may be hindering himself since the other candidates are moving against him at full steam.

Sanders well reasoned and principled position against a corrupt campaign finance system has brought him support and the moral high ground during his campaign. If he is not careful, that may be just all he walks away with.

He has also collected donations from millions of individual supporters where the average donation has been $27. Yet, the failure of the Sanders campaign to fully utilize all tools at his disposal may ultimately be his demise. The especially true since his only adversary, Hillary Clinton, has utilized all financial options at her disposal.

This, together with how the delegate distribution system is managed during the primary elections, stacks the deck against sanders.

Despite Sanders honorable position to not endorse or use super PACs, one PAC has decided to step in and begin fighting for Sanders.

It appears, since many people in the nation have heard and been receptive to Sanders rhetoric regarding campaign finance, and are supportive of how he has ran his campaign thus far, it is time to start fighting fire with fire by pulling out all super PAC support as needed to secure the win.

Once in office, Bernie Sanders could then make the changes he believes is needed to be made to remove unfair and corruptive campaign elements from the electoral process.

For now, he may be paddling up the campaign stream with one paddle which could loose him the election, however, without jeopardizing his beliefs.

Super-PAC’s Composition Reveals Donors, Contributors and Operators Behind Them

20160217_1556 Hedge Fund Billionaires Fund Super PAC Ad Against Bernie (Intercept).jpg Super-PAC’s Composition Reveals Donors, Contributors and Operators Behind Them
By Daryl Parsons

(Feb. 17, 2016 22:30 ET) In today’s article in the Intercept, “Hedge Fund Billionaires Fund Super PAC Ad Against Bernie Sanders and Minimum Wage Hike,” information about the donors, contributors and operators behind the Super PAC provides perspective and context to their mission and add campaigns.

By drawing attention to the underlying structure of these Super PACs, beyond the mere fact that they are directed at a particular candidate, helps the public’s understanding of them, contributes designing counter-information campaigns against them.

Since the term “Super PAC” has been used over and over during this year’s presidential election cycle. It’s easy to quickly roll one’s eyes and be dismissive about them. As a result, the true nature of any one particular Super PAC gets overlook. All these bad actors behind the Super PAC are then able to secretly continue their agenda as “business as usual.”

In Jilani’s article specific details of the Super PAC now launching add campaigns against presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders has been brought to light. By exposing the true inner structure of this particular Super PAC, it actually provides a great background to refer to when coming into contact with the media communications they put out into the public forum. There should be public registries, obviously online, where each Super PAC is required to disclose their contributors, membership and mission statement.

Though Citizens United Supreme Court case permits these Super PACs to operate as of now, disclosures of their inner structure is also part of the discussion. The public then will have all of the information about the Super PAC’s messages, both their media products, as well as their base structural foundation.

At the end of the day, researching information about any of the underlying Super PACs which have been activated during this election cycle provides context to the messages contained in their media campaigns. At the end of the day, the louder the distorted message put out by targeted Super PAC campaigns, the louder the counter-information campaign is heard addressing the inaccuracies, special interests, and any other information in the Super PACs media package which were not disclosed at the time it was released.
