Bernie Sanders Wins Wyoming Democratic Caucus 2016

(Saturday, April 9, 2016 6:34 pm) — Bernie Sanders was declared the winner in the 2016 Wyoming Democratic caucus keeping his wave of momentum alive with the caucus being his seventh victory in a row. The win was no surprise for the Vermont senator who was expected to win Wyoming being a Western caucus state with a largely white electorate.

Democrats gathered across the state to allocate 14 of the state’s pledged delegates. Wyoming has 4 superdelegates that have already backed Clinton. While the win keeps the Sanders campaign alive it does not do much to affect Clinton’s overall delegate lead ahead of the key New York primary where 291 delegates are at stake. The primary will take place April 19.

Sanders: 56 percent
Clinton: 44 percent

(Friday, April 8, 2016 6:00 pm) — In Brooklyn Heights, on the 11th floor of an office building, Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign headquarters was humming on Monday. Staff members and volunteers were working the phones in spacious offices with windows that look out on the Manhattan skyline. Photos of supporters, an array of campaign buttons and a hanging gong, with the names of states she has won scribbled onto it in marker, adorned the sleekly designed space. A retired New York police officer stood guard.

Two miles away, in a gritty open-floor office space in Gowanus, Brooklyn, that smelled of fresh paint, an army of mostly young Bernie Sanders supporters began gathering two weeks ago to spread his message. Last weekend, they nibbled on orange slices, perched on plastic folding chairs and sifted through mountains of newly delivered cardboard boxes filled with Bernie for President pamphlets. Visitors walked up a driveway and through a half-open side door to enter.

“A new low,” complained Clinton spokesman Brian Fallon, after her rival responded to what he believed were personal attacks on him by questioning whether she was “qualified to be president” either.

(April 5, 2016 23:40 ET) — Bernie Sanders has won Wisconsin’s Democratic presidential primary, major news outlets report.

The race was called for the U.S. senator from Vermont not long after polls closed at 8 p.m. local time. Two hours later, with 55 percent of the vote counted, Sanders had 55 percent and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton 45 percent, NBC News reports.

(Mar 27, 2016 08:38) — Presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders achieved his goal of a trifecta in Saturday’s caucuses to chip away at Hillary Clinton’s lead by winning the states of Washington, Hawaii, and Alaska by huge margins.

In the biggest contest of the night with 101 delegates at stake, the Pacific Northwest state of Washington was called for Sanders after he was leading by a huge margin, garnering 72.7 percent of the vote. In one county, almost 90 percent of ballots were cast for Sanders.
